The Rise of Crochet in Fashion

I am a fan of the TV show Sex and the City. Have been since it originally aired. I am fully aware of the flaws and don’t get me started on the commercialism of it, but I can’t help but love the shenanigans they get up to, but more than anything, I always loved their friendship and the theme of choosing your family.

Imagine my happiness at the announcement of the new series ‘And Just Like That’ (What films? There were no films?!). I was so happy and decided to rewatch it all in readiness. And then the new series started.

I had heard rumblings on social media and in ‘real life’ that knit/crochet-wear was coming back into fashion again due to the number of people who had taken it up during the pandemic lockdowns as well as a drive for more sustainable clothing and a move away from fast-fashion. However, I wasn’t ready for the collision of two of my favourite things and was over the moon when I saw this:

The image shows a middle-aged white woman wearing glasses and laying on a chair while reading a book and wrapped in a very soft blanket.

Carrie’s blanket is stunning and perfect for doing just this – relaxing at home or cwtching, as we say in Wales.

Just imagine having one of these of your own, especially on a blustery day like today.
