On a pale background: text running down the left side of the screen says 'New YouTube videos'. To the right are 3 images of the video thumbnails for 3 of the videos in the Crochet Basics playlist. These are Crochet hooks, making a slip know, and making a chain.

I don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but I love crochet! Had I mentioned that? Had you picked up on it? And, I love teaching others how to crochet.

And, as you know, I have plans for the future to teach as many people as possible how to crochet. This will be for anyone – those looking to learn crochet for beginners right through to experienced crocheters looking to try a new technique.

I will always aim for my teaching to be affordable and where possible, they will be free.

One such place where you will have lots of free resources for learning how to crochet is my YouTube channel (What? You’ve not subscribed yet? I’ll wait here while you go and do that.).

During the Autumn and Winter madness of having craft fairs every weekend, I didn’t get chance to make and upload as many videos as I wanted to. So over the last few weeks, I’ve started a new playlist called CROCHET BASICS and it does exactly what it says on the tin – it gives you the very basics of crochet including how to hold a hook, the basic crochet stitches, and making a granny square.

Want to know more about learning to crochet? This round-up post brings together all of my blog posts on this subject, including reading a pattern and choosing yarns.

I’ll be adding more of these tutorials to the Crochet Basics playlist and if you have any suggestions of anything that you would like to see, please just pop your ideas in the comment section below or send me an email at [email protected]. I’d really love to hear from you, especially if you’re an experience crocheter – what would you have liked to have been shown when you were wanting to learn crochet for beginners?
