The Crochet Flower Pattern Collection

I love making crochet flowers. They’re so cheerful and bright.

AND they don’t need water and can’t die 🥳

Trust me when I say, that is an important factor for me.

I thought that you might also like to crochet your own flowers, especially as they’re suitable for all levels of crocheters – beginners to advanced and everyone in between.

The Floral Collection contains crochet patterns for a rose, daisy, daffodil, and tulip; plus the patterns for making the leaf and the different styles of stems.

Image shows 3 crochet flowers - yellow rose, red rose, and a white daisy. The pattern for each of these is available in the Floral Collection

Each pattern is available for free right here on the WoollyWondersByJo blog,

AND as a free YouTube tutorial on my YouTube channel.

AND, if you prefer, each crochet pattern is also available to buy individually as a PDF download through the WoollyWondersByJo website, Etsy, Ravelry, and Lovecrafts.

OR you can buy the whole Floral Collection as a bundle either here or on Payhip. The bundle includes all 6 PDF patterns and has a lovely discount to say thank you.

Crochet Rose - Free Pattern

The first crochet pattern to be released in this collection is for the classic – the Rose.

The Meaning of the Rose

Depending on the colour you choose to give, the meaning of a rose varies enormously. We all know that a red rose signifies love, but a dark crimson rose can mean mourning. A pink rose can mean happiness, a white rose can signify innocence, but a yellow rose can mean jealousy!

But if the rose is your favourite flower, what can that say about you? The thorns of the rose can mean that you are thick-skinned, courageous, and will work through problems.

Or, like me, you could just like roses!

If you prefer this pattern as an ad-free PDF, then it is available to buy here on my website, Ravelry, Payhip or Etsy.

7. Finish off & leave a long tail to sew the flower together

Constructing the Flower

  1. Roll the flower starting with the smallest (a stitch pattern) petals and have the RS facing inwards and sew it loosely together as you roll.
  2. Once rolled, use the long tail left at the end of the large petals to sew the end into place and to then fully secure the petals into place.
  3. Turn the flower upside down and put the stem in place with the 6 leaves positioned equally around the base of the flower.
  4. Using the long tail from the stem and leaves, sew the leaves onto the flower making sure that the green yarn can’t be seen through the flower’s petals – don’t thread the yarn through the flower, just the outer petal’s stitches.
  5. Finish off by securely sewing in the ends and cutting your yarn.
  6. Use the long tail from the leaf to sew this onto the stem. Make this secure but don’t pull the yarn so tight that it distorts the ‘lay’ of the stem.
And finally . . . . . .

I hope you enjoy making any and all of these crochet flowers and that you play around with different yarns, textures, and sizes.

But whatever you do, please share pics with me on social media! I absolutely love seeing what you make.
